For this week, we had a team meeting on Saturday to discuss the assets we will be needing to implement the first official build of our game. We updated the master assets list based upon the conclusion we have made during the meeting.
My job this week was to complete the story cutscene functionality. This involves displaying story text in a typewriter-style and adding new effects to the pictures such as the slide-in effect. I was also in charge of looking into adding 3D animation to the existing models of the game. This is because I had experience working with animator/animation in unity for my previous games and it should be easy for me to pick up the details. However, since I've only worked on 2D games, there could be things that are different that I need to look more into.
In the future, my job is to better the enemy AI by either modifying existing functionality of the enemies or introducing new mechanics for later stages of the game. As of right now, I will be collaborating with John (the original programmer for the enemy AI) and trace his steps till I am familiarized with the structure.
