VFX? maybe not

So I spend 90% of my time this week trying to get these lasers to work. It started out promising but then I had small hiccups in terms of repositioning the particle systems and expanding/collapsing them while still allowing them to retain their overall look. I started out by getting a flashing tube mesh then adding sparks to the sides and a sort of pulsating thruster in the middle. This worked out fine for smaller tubes but when they increased in size that's what where the problem was I spent a good 4 hours on this side then I tried moving on to a different solution since I felt like this approach didnt work for objects that change in size.


Next I learnt how to use the shader graph in unity to create a line renderer version of the laser. This is showing more promise but now I have run into another problem concerning vfx. Most of the tutorials online/ videos that teach you how to make vfx use other types of graphs and such so I have to convert it to unities shader graphs and right now I am having a problem trying to make the alphas clip at a certain point.




The blacks should be transparent and I feel like its not working because of the way I exported from photoshop? Ill probably continue working on this as its actually kinda fun (albeit frustrating).


Also added more sound effects,cleaned up and replaced some and added master volume control.


about 10~ hours total mostly playing around w vfx stuff.
