Time taken (approximately): 10 hours
This week I finalized the designs for three new enemy types that will be introduced into the game. Unfortunately, this took a bit longer than I would've wanted due to some more revisions, and further detailing of characters. Regardless, I have settled on these three designs.
First, there is the Sharpshooter that belongs to the "Anvil" faction (Name may be changed later). The design is very similar to the gunner enemy type that I drew prior, and it shares a lot of those bulky and angular qualities while also being more diminutive in nature. These particular enemies will fly to secluded portions of the level and try to pick off the courier from long distances.
Next, there is the Anvil Grappler. With this design, I kept a lot of the aspects from the sketch, but I replaced the legs with thrusters to maintain the motif among Anvil enemies. I also made the face a rounder and bulkier to fit in with the idea that this is a bull-like enemy. They will fly towards the player, and use the energized shields on their arms to ram their target. This will disorient the player and allow for the Grappler to take the package and contain in in between their chest and thrusters (there will be a little stasis field)
Finally, there is the Hunter archetype from the Horde Faction (name will probably be changed if we think of something cooler) These creatures are the antithesis of Anvil. They are thinner and rounder, while using a completely different color palette. In addition, they are very feral in contrast to the militaristic Anvil faction. This enemy type is strictly melee oriented, and it moves like a sea snake in water (except it's space cause... you know). They will dash and swipe at the enemy and while one may not be super threatening, multiple are.
In terms of other things I am currently working on:
I am working on creating the images for the cutscenes of our game as well as getting ready to model some of these enemy types.
