For this week, I am in charge of making the damage indicator system within our game. We want to add this because we want to give the player the ability to see where are being hit while they are exploring the map. This enhances the gameplay because it allows the player to react to enemies that are not in their view.


I am also in charge of fixing some of the known issues with the dialogue system such as the pause button does not hide the dialogue that is currently displaying. However, some of the issues that the team discussed last week need to be confirmed before I implement them. This includes should the dialogue system pause the game and force the user to read through or should just be on the bottom of the screen when the player is playing the game.


To implement the damage indicator, I followed through with a tutorial that I found online. You would expect this tutorial to be compatible with our game but it's actually not. In the tutorial, the way his camera follows his player is different from ours and he tracks the enemy's location instead of the last location player got hit from. I have to actually understand the code and modify it to fit our needs.
