Team meeting: 1 hour

Integrate the storyboard with the cutscene functionality: 2 hours

Adding new effects to the cutscene: 1 hour


After having a meeting on Saturday discussing what the deliverables are for the build we will use for user testing. We came to the conclusion that the goal for me this week is to integrate the cutscene functionally with the art provided and adding the functionality into the game itself. Creating a seamless user experience.


I would like to note is that I have many interviews and midterms this week so I had to push a lot of my work to the weekend which means I didn't have much time working on this build. However, I was able to finish my task and start doing research on some of the new tasks that were assigned to me such as warning the player that an astroid is nearby and making a floaty cape for the player.


The first thing that I did this week is to replace all the Pikachu pictures with the actual storyboard pictures. Making the effects of the pictures fit their description such as the floating robot, the robot raising his hand, and the robot getting sucked into space.


The second thing that I worked on this week is adding the functionality that allows the player to skip through the text. Even tho I love my typewriter effect but it takes a long time for it to fully display. It will be really annoying that the player has to wait for it to display every time they play the game (I might even add a skip button in the future).


The last thing that I did this week is looking into the new tasks that were assigned to me. I primarily focused on researching the warning effect before getting hit and after getting hit. I think this can be used in both the astroid and the combat system itself. It will provide the player info on what is hitting them and what is about to hit them.
