This final week was spent touching up the character model and generating a quick rig to use for making posing easier. If we are able to work more on this project in the future I plan on scrapping this auto rig and manually creating my own rig complete with controllers and animating the character as well.
The things that got touched up on the model were the sleeves on the jacket. They were much too long in comparison to the reference art so they were made much shorter which allowed for the elbows to be more exposed and pronounced. I also took the time to thoroughly go through the model and make sure there were no vertices not properly welded. It had turned out that the torso and the legs were not properly welded together so I fixed that.
The pose was then adjusted with the help of the rig and was made to stand more like the original character art. Along with this I posed the arm in such a way that it would look like the character was aiming their gun, since I did not have enough time to implement any animations, this was what I decided was best.
