For this week, I looked into how awful the reactive movement options of the player are. The solution; no air blast, more dashes!
Currently, both the blastback and the dashes exist in a rough state; you have to double tap a direction to dash in that direction, but we're actively looking to refine the system now that it's in place with a dedicated "dash" button that gets your currently input direction to move in that angle. So, if you want to make a 180 from your current location because you're about to collide, you would be able to do so.
Of course, a cooldown is in place to prevent excessive use of dashing, and we're hoping to refine this in order to make movement even more fluid.
