After we got done discussing what we wanted to get done for the first build of the term, I made sure to get some comments from the professor on the changes I made to level 1 last week. He gave some very insightful criticism, and with the level design lecture that we got I was able to get a lot of good ideas for how I wanted to remake the level.
It took me around half an hour to get my ideas onto paper, on Friday I made sure to draw out what I wanted level 1 to look like, similar to how I did it last week. However, this time I made it so there were multiple angles in my design so it would make it easier to implement. Basically, I made it so the level would gradually introduce gameplay mechanics such as flying, shooting, fighting enemies, and mines. Finally, the level twists all of these concepts by forcing the player to use/deal with all of these mechanics to get the package from a group of enemies. Overall, putting the level into unity took around 2 days (however I spend an hour and a half on each day so around 3 hours total). Also, for this level, I wanted to implement a new system of breakable rocks which took around 30 minutes to create. So overall, I spent around 4 hours on this part of the assignment, not counting my meeting with my teammates.
